Cancer Cells Mutate

I was watching two programmes about people who had cancer here in the UK. One was about Dame Deborah James. She fought cancer with the help of the latest treatment, drugs, the love of her family and doing things that brought her joy. She campaigned for five years before her death advocating for others to get tested early for cancer. She set up a fund to raise money to help patients with cancer. It raised one million in the first twenty four hours. She was courageous to the end.

The other programme was about research using Car T-cell treatment. Dr Martin leads the research and speaks in his programme , War in the blood, a cure for cancer. The treatment helped his patients initially using the patients own blood cells that attack disease in the blood. But the cancer cells mutated. The patients’ new cells became ineffective.

All the families involved shared their journey on camera, their hopes, fears and sadness.

I am so grateful to be alive after having fourth stage bowel cancer. The doctors and nursing staff treated me with tender love and care each time I attended hospital. They knew what I faced in having cancer.

My family and others prayed for me. I believe that Jesus heals today. In the past before the development of science to treat diseases, people who were sick went to church for prayer. Scripture says call the elders. They will anoint you with oil and you will be healed.

James 5 v 14
Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

These words are not my own. These words are inspired by the Holy Spirit to tell people the truth. Jesus is the way, truth and the life. God is not dead. He does not change. He is the same God yesterday and forever. His word gives us guidelines how to live. The prayers of others healed me.

Seek Him and you will find Him. The God who healed me created the heavens and the earth. I include a photo taken of a display of beauty over Alaska taken by Todd Sinard.

Twelfth Anniversary of having Cancer

I have good news for you today.
I thank and praise God for healing me from Malignant Cancer twelve years ago. There is no other God who heals and delivers one from death. He is Almighty God. He is my heavenly Father. He cares for me. I believe in Him and His Word. The way to know God is through reading His Word and believing in His son Jesus and receiving the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today is the twelfth anniversary of being diagnosed with fourth stage bowel cancer. That day twelve years ago was Easter Monday. We had just remembered the crucifixion and death of Jesus a few days before. On Easter Sunday we heard at Church the gospel telling us that some women went to Jesus tomb and his body wasn’t there. He had risen from the dead. There is no other empty tomb in the world.

I was now facing death. Would Jesus death and resurrection have any revelance to me and save me from death. What was I to do? I read in the gospels how Jesus went about doing good and healing all those who were oppressed by the devil. He healed all people who came to him from all diseases and delivered others from demons. The common theme is that He healed all those who asked.
I asked God to heal me. His mighty power moved to deliver me from death. God sent forth his word to heal me. I repented of any ways I had sinned, strife, rebellion, unforgiveness, bitterness and much more. He sent a prophecy through a friend that I would be healed 100%. My husband, family and friends began to pray for me. They had dreams, pictures and messages of hope for me. I was delivered from death. Brendan encouraged me, prayed and fought on my behalf for my healing. I would not be alive without his help. He used his authority to command Satan and all disease to go from me. Satan brings death. God’s Word says he comes to rob, steal and destroy. God answered Brendan’s prayer.

I now know the reality of the power of Jesus name and his death and shedding of his blood on the cross. Isaiah 53 says He was bruised for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquity and by His stripes we are healed.
In Jesus name I am healed. Demons, disease and cancer bow before the name of Jesus. I am covered by the blood of Jesus. My sins are forgiven. You too can be forgiven and healed by Jesus today if you ask him.

I seek to obey God. God promises to bless us when we obey him. In the last twelve years, three more of our children have married and sixteen grandchildren have been born. I am not living my life for myself. I know how I live will affect my children and my children’s children.

I have traveled with my husband Brendan to many nations working with him and telling my story of God’s power to heal. Greece, Canada, India, Slovakia, England, Iceland, Israel and Scotland are some of the nations I have travelled. I did not have any operations. I remain free of cancer . I have had check ups done and I’m still clear of cancer. I am Staying Alive. Praise God.

My husband wrote a book for me Staying Alive about my healing. It is available if you type in Amazon.com. Then type in Brendan Mc Cauley. Books are available there. It is available on Kindle. If you would like a copy press paperback beside Staying Alive.
Thank you for reading my post today.

Thankfulness in 2018

Dear Friends,

Happy Christmas to everyone and especially to new friends on WordPress. Thank you all for reading my posts and getting in touch this last year.

It’s near the darkest day of winter. To anyone of you who finds the dark days tough, physically or spiritually, hang in there. Some of you have lost loved ones, are sick or in other difficulties. Be encouraged. Signs of better days ware coming. New life is springing forth already in the garden. Seeds you have planted in people’s lives will grow this coming year. Daffodils and snowdrop green shoots are above ground already.

We celebrate Jesus birth at his time. It is indeed a good reason to celebrate. He came to set the captive free, to heal the broken hearted, to bring joy instead of mourning and beauty for ashes.

Believe in Jesus today. We all soften our hearts at the thought of a helpless babe in a crib in a cowshed. He was born into the lowest position on earth, not in a king’s palace. Jesus is alive by his spirit to reach down to anyone who feels low today. Let him be born into your heart today. His presence will remain with you forever, not just once a year when we celebrate Christmas. All other things bring disappointment. Jesus will never disappoint. He is not a man. He doesn’t break his promises.

May we press on into the New Year Staying Alive, overcoming and telling others about the goodness of God through Jesus. Happy Christmas.

A Walk in the Wicklow Hills.

Last weekend, Brendan and I were visiting my daughter, husband and family in Wicklow. They were glad to see us. She had a welcome meal ready for us after a long journey. The children were reminiscing with their grandad and remembering the video he made showing them dive off the pier. They are already looking forward to next year’s summer camp at Granddad’s house.

Shann was sorting out school clothes and putting away items the children had grown out of. The cuffs of the girls’ school jumpers were a bit frayed. A few stitches will repair them. Thread and needle were searched out and granny used her skills to make all things new.

The washing machine churned out sheets, socks, jumpers and tights. Clothes were brought in from the washing line and left in a pile on the kitchen table to be sorted later. More clothes were hung out to dry. I watched my daughter doing her washing from the comfort of the cosy chair Shann had purchased for me. I remembered back to when my children were young. The end of holidays was a frenzied time getting everyone one ready for school again.

Shann coaxed Brendan and I to go for a walk. They live in a beautiful area in the hills of Wicklow. I had to leave my cosy chair. I enjoyed the stunning views and the banter with the children. Two of the children brought their bicycles with them. They are like me, not too keen on walking.

We rested at the end of the lane. Wild fushia and heather were in bloom. Bees were buzzing collecting pollen. Trees that were planted by the forestry a few years back are now growing tall, replacing the trees that had been harvested. A new generation of trees.

Our grandchildren are now growing tall. I’m not quite ready to be chopped down. I asked my Maggie, my granddaughter who had her bicycle if I could borrow it to save my legs on the journey back to the house. She agreed. I sailed down the brae but gave it back when I came to a steep incline.

I joined the others to walk the last part of the lane. After a while we noticed Maggie had gone on ahead and she hadn’t waited for us. There was an inviting part of the lane up ahead. It was just perfect for me to sale down. But Maggie and her bicycle were nowhere to be found.
She must have been frightened that granny may have been too heavy for her precious bicycle.

When I returned home North I resolved to do some exercise to get these dry bones working again. I got out my own bicycle. Despite the pain and aches I will overcome and get fit. As I said I’m not ready to be chopped down or sit in the corner doing needle work. I have a lot of living to do yet. I am staying alive to proclaim the works of the Lord and to see more of my children’s children.

“Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.”

Testimony Tuesday Lady from Nove Mesto Nad Vahom healed from Cancer.

Each Tuesday I intend to write a testimony about what the living God has done for me or people I know.  Today I want  to tell a story about a lady from Nove Mesto Nad Vahom in Slovakia who had cancer.

I was invited to tell my story about having fourteen children and how God healed me of Cancer in a school in that town.  I talked in a High School to children aged from fourteen years to eighteen years old.
It was a bit formidable at first, standing before a crowd of children and their teachers.  I remembered that over the years I had to interact with my own teenage boys and girls just like the audience before me.  I was not afraid.

When I told them I had fourteen children I got their attention. I went on to tell them about my family, my children just like them, praying for me to be healed of Cancer.  Jesus said to pray to the Father in his name and the Father would answer their prayers.

“Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” (‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭23‬ NIV)

I encouraged them to help and pray for their parents, just like my children did for me.  I blessed the school children and gave them a copy of my book, Staying Alive.

Six young people stayed behind and asked me to pray for them.  One of the young ladies began to cry.  She told me her mother was going into hospital the next day for an operation for Cancer.  I prayed for her mother and asked the Father in Jesus name to heal her just as he had healed me.

Two months later I received an email from the young lady.  She told me her mother was pregnant and the doctors could not believe it.  When one has Cancer and undergoes treatment, one of the side effects is infertility.  The doctors warned her there could be abnormality with the child.  A healthy strong baby boy was born some months later.

The mother went for tests to check for Cancer later.  She got the all clear.  The doctors were amazed.  This mother is enjoying life with her new baby boy.  Jesus promises to give us life and give it more abundantly.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ KJV)

I tell this story to give Glory to God who is healing people today.  Jesus, when he was on Earth healed people of all diseases.  As God has comforted me and my family, he wants to do the same for others.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬ KJV)
who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ NIV)

People often ask why I quote the scriptures.  I believe the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God and I repeat what God says.  I give testiment to the fulfilment of what God has said.  His Word promises that he will answer our prayers to heal and he does.  It is not in my power this lady was healed.  It was through the power of the name of Jesus.

What God, the Creator of the Universe has done for me and this lady from Nove Mesto Nad Vahom, he can do for you.

Some Words of Thanks.

My book is called Staying Alive and I am thankful to God to be alive to celebrate another New Year.

Jesus promises to give us life and more abundantly.

A big thank you to all at WordPress.   I received some feedback about my blog yesterday.  It was if I had graduated from university.  I am so encouraged about the statistics and overall view they gave me.  I was going around with a smile on my face.

I want to thank you my followers and all who read my blogs.  I hope my words help you.  Thank you for your comments that often encourage me to keep going.

Happy New Year and keep on doing what you are good at.

May The Lord bless you, may The Lord keep you, may The Lord make his face to shine on you and grant you his peace.

An Inherited Brooch Brings Back Memories.

I was wearing a brooch on my coat lapel today.  It belonged to my husband’s mother.  I liked it because it was in the shape of a tree.  It caught my son’s eye as we were out for a walk.  He said “Is that the olive tree with all the branches around your table.”  He was referring to a scripture that described our young children sitting around our table.
Blessed is every one that fears the Lord; that walks in his ways.
For you will eat the labour of thine hands: happy will you be, and it shall be well with you.
Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine within your house: your children like olive plants round about thy table.
Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed imagethat feareth the Lord. (‭Psalms‬ ‭128‬:‭1-4‬ KJV)

We used to sing this Psalm often.  Abraham said “Let me count the number of leaves on it.”  He counted fourteen, the number of children we have.  I was excited and could not wait to tell Brendan.  I showed the brooch to him and he was pleasantly surprised as well.  He counted the number of leaves.  Yes there were fourteen.  But he looked again and counted six white leaves and eight green leaves.  We have six girls and eight boys in our family.

The brooch is inexpensive but it is priceless now.  It is prophetic.  Nannie had this brooch for many years.  I bet she never expected her son would have fourteen children.  I am wearing it in memory of her and all our children The Lord gave us.

Children are a blessing from The Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127

We moved house recently.  Brendan has been working to get our home ready for visiting family and grandchildren.  We push ourselves to get one more job done, even though our bodies ache.  We take a break and start again.  We have a big house and it is a bit  lonely with just the two of us, after years of activity and bustle.  Our hearts ache as well when we remember our loved ones far away.

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?  Though she may forget I will not forget you.”  (‭Isaiah‬ ‭49‬:‭15‬ NIV)

Abraham returned from university yesterday; the first of the birds flying home to Ireland for Christmas.  Three more arrive on Friday.   I am blessed today as God reminds us of all our children we reared down through the years, in this little brooch.  They are returning home.  He has not forgotten us.

Lift up your eyes and look around; all your children gather and come to you. As surely as I live,” declares the Lord, “you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭49‬:‭18‬ NIV)

I will wear my brooch and think of God’s love and faithfulness to us.  Yes his promise to me will come true.  My children will return.

I received an e mail from a friend in Canada. She reminded me of Proverbs 13 v 12,

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭13‬:‭12‬ NIV)

When I was suffering from cancer I had lost all hope in the future or my dreams and prophesies coming true. But God intervened. He had mercy on me and for his Name’s sake he healed me. Today my hopes and dreams are coming true. The brooch resembling a tree is an encouragement to me that my longings are being fulfilled, and that God is restoring my life.

There is life after cancer. I am staying alive.

Cancer Healed

I have experienced malignant cancer healed completely.  The effect of cancer was reversed and the tumour disappeared.  I am cured through the power of Jesus.

Today is the fourth anniversary of me going to the doctor with symptoms of colon cancer.  It was confirmed weeks later after I had a colonoscopy.  The Oncologist Nurse told me I had malignant cancer.

The definition of malignant according to the Marriam-Webster dictionary is

medical : very serious and dangerous : tending or likely to grow and spread in a rapid and uncontrolled way that can cause death

I was stunned.  Everyone thought the inevitable.

I had an MRI scan and a CT scan taken later. All the results of these procedures were considered by the Oncologist team in the City Hospital in Northern Ireland.  This hospital is well known for the care of cancer patients.

I looked at the photos taken of the cancer.  I saw the reddish growth.  The scans showed I had a 9cm tumor in the lower part of my bowel.  I had fourth stage cancer.  The doctors treat the patient hoping to extend life but they do not offer a cure.

The head doctor told me his team had discussed my case.  They decided the best way to treat me was to have five weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.  This was just to reduce the tumor.  I would have an operation to remove the tumor and the part of my bowel which was affected.  I would have an ileostomy fitted.

I was very sad and depressed.  My family and others began to pray for me.
In the past I had prayed for people to be healed.  I believed in Jesus who when he was on earth cured those who were ill, Luke 9 v 11 NIV.  He is the only one who offers a cure. I was too weak to pray for myself.

I went through radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.  I did not have any side effects of burning, nausea or hair loss.   The doctor called me to have an operation six weeks later.  I believed I the cancer healed completely.  The doctors were annoyed with me.  They said treatment does not cure cancer.  You need an operation!  The head doctor examined me and confirmed there was no tumor.  He gave me a letter saying so.

Four years on I remain healed of cancer and I am restored to health and strength, more than before.  I believe cancer will not come back.

It is by faith in Jesus I am healed and remain healed.

Nahum 1 v 9 “Trouble will not come a second time.”

I give glory to God for his tender mercies to me.

My book Staying Alive is the story of the cancer healed.

Blurb for book I want to write.

My husband and I wrote a book called Staying Alive.  It tells about my journey from being diagnosed with fourth cancer to the head consultant writing me a letter to say he could find no trace of the nine centimetre tumour in my colon. Four years on, I am staying alive and I have produced this book about my family.
Whatever your views have been about having children up to now, this book about our big family will change your ideas forever.
I tell stories about life from day to day in our home, how God interrupted our lives and guided us on a journey we did not choose.  Scripture says I chose you.
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. (Isaiah 48:10 KJV)
You will laugh, you will cry, you will have renewed hope and courage.  This book will bring healing to you, your marriage and your wider family.  My book tells of restoration of broken relationships by the power of God.  Barriers broken down and unity and love restored in family.
God came into my life and has multiplied me to become a tribe of thirty four people!  I have fourteen children, six in laws and twelve grandchildren and counting.
The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly.” (Isaiah 60:22 NIV)
