Twelfth Anniversary of having Cancer

I have good news for you today.
I thank and praise God for healing me from Malignant Cancer twelve years ago. There is no other God who heals and delivers one from death. He is Almighty God. He is my heavenly Father. He cares for me. I believe in Him and His Word. The way to know God is through reading His Word and believing in His son Jesus and receiving the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today is the twelfth anniversary of being diagnosed with fourth stage bowel cancer. That day twelve years ago was Easter Monday. We had just remembered the crucifixion and death of Jesus a few days before. On Easter Sunday we heard at Church the gospel telling us that some women went to Jesus tomb and his body wasn’t there. He had risen from the dead. There is no other empty tomb in the world.

I was now facing death. Would Jesus death and resurrection have any revelance to me and save me from death. What was I to do? I read in the gospels how Jesus went about doing good and healing all those who were oppressed by the devil. He healed all people who came to him from all diseases and delivered others from demons. The common theme is that He healed all those who asked.
I asked God to heal me. His mighty power moved to deliver me from death. God sent forth his word to heal me. I repented of any ways I had sinned, strife, rebellion, unforgiveness, bitterness and much more. He sent a prophecy through a friend that I would be healed 100%. My husband, family and friends began to pray for me. They had dreams, pictures and messages of hope for me. I was delivered from death. Brendan encouraged me, prayed and fought on my behalf for my healing. I would not be alive without his help. He used his authority to command Satan and all disease to go from me. Satan brings death. God’s Word says he comes to rob, steal and destroy. God answered Brendan’s prayer.

I now know the reality of the power of Jesus name and his death and shedding of his blood on the cross. Isaiah 53 says He was bruised for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquity and by His stripes we are healed.
In Jesus name I am healed. Demons, disease and cancer bow before the name of Jesus. I am covered by the blood of Jesus. My sins are forgiven. You too can be forgiven and healed by Jesus today if you ask him.

I seek to obey God. God promises to bless us when we obey him. In the last twelve years, three more of our children have married and sixteen grandchildren have been born. I am not living my life for myself. I know how I live will affect my children and my children’s children.

I have traveled with my husband Brendan to many nations working with him and telling my story of God’s power to heal. Greece, Canada, India, Slovakia, England, Iceland, Israel and Scotland are some of the nations I have travelled. I did not have any operations. I remain free of cancer . I have had check ups done and I’m still clear of cancer. I am Staying Alive. Praise God.

My husband wrote a book for me Staying Alive about my healing. It is available if you type in Amazon.com. Then type in Brendan Mc Cauley. Books are available there. It is available on Kindle. If you would like a copy press paperback beside Staying Alive.
Thank you for reading my post today.

Behind Locked Doors

It is nine months since we learned about Corona Virus and it’s potential to cause death, especially to the vulnerable and elderly.

The government put the country in lockdown. People were advised to stay at home and not have others in their home. Fear of getting the virus has gripped our nation.

Restrictions were lifted in July. I sighed with relief. I could now visit family and friends.

Now in October we are told to stay at home again because the numbers of infected people have increased. More fear. Some elderly people I have heard are too fearful to leave their homes.

I remember that there was a group of Jesus followers who were in lock down. They were in a room together for fear of the Jews who had just killed their follower Jesus on the cross. They had killed their leader. They thought it was only a matter of time before the Jews came looking for them.

John 20 v 19.

When the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in their midst. He said to them Peace be with you. Jesus breathed on them and said to them Receive the Holy Spirit.

Are you lonely and fearful? Are you finding it difficult to stay at home? I encourage you that you are a good candidate for Jesus to come to to give you peace and fill you with his Holy Spirit. Expect Him to come to you.

The Comforter has Come

Jesus was talking to his friends at the last supper when he explained to them what was going to happen in the future.  He was fore telling his death and that he was going to leave them.

“But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you;
but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:6-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus called the prince of this world, Satan.  “The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out.”  John 12v 31.  Jesus defeated Satan when He shed his blood on the cross.  Satan’s power over this world was broken.  When we believe in Jesus we come into God’s Kingdom and Satan doesn’t have to rule over us any longer.  We believe this by faith in Jesus.  We need to progress in the knowledge of God and not let Satan deceive us any longer.  The Holy Spirit leads us into truth.

He reassured  them that he would sent a comforter, the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is referred in the scriptures as the helper, the advocate, the counsellor as well as the comforter.“

In these troubled days who doesn’t need a comforter.  A father, mother, child or friend may not be with one in his life to bring friendship and comfort.  But God promised a comforter who will never leave or forsake one.  He is the Holy Spirit.

By believing in Jesus one can ask the Holy Spirit to come into one’s life.  God will give him the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the gift of speaking in tongues, a different language than one’s own. This is prayer language that builds our spirit up. With this prayer one defeats Satan.

Don’t be afraid to receive the Holy Spirit.  Ask the Father in Jesus name to send you the Holy Spirit.  If one asks his own father for a gift, will he not give him it.  How much more our Heavenly Father will give to us The Holy Spirit.  He will not give us anything that is harmful.

Praise Flows out of Love

Everyone flourishes under praise.  When I was spoon feeding my grandchild this evening I congratulated her on each spoonful she accepted, chewed and swallowed.  Before we knew she had the whole bowlful finished.  My son was able to enjoy his dinner while I looked after Ava.  Normally she would help herself.  Dinner would be spread all around the table and on the floor.  Dinner time was a delight and peaceful without having to persuade Ava to finish her dinner.  No one cared about the mess.  What we did enjoy was our meal together at grand dad’s house.

Our two sons and their families are visiting from Canada.  We are getting together for our son Patrick’s wedding next week.  I am alive to celebrate my son’s wedding and to enjoy my sons visiting from Canada.

When I praise my husband he doesn’t know what hit him.  A light turns on and he would do anything for me.  But sadly I forget too often to thank or praise him.  Recently a friend was praising me for my work and it was very humbling to accept her thanks and approval.  Often one is negative instead of appreciating what a friend, daughter or son does, or value their worth.  I am often guilty of seeing what someone doesn’t do instead of praising them for who he or she is.

I think praise for someone comes out of a heart of love.  I have experienced the love of my family and friends when I was healed from Fourth stage bowel cancer.  They prayed to the One whom they believed and hoped would bring my healing.  I thank and value the help of doctors but they  admit they can treat cancer but do not offer a complete cure.  The One is Jesus.  When he was on earth he went about healing all those with diseases.

I have come to experience God’s complete healing from this deadly disease in my life.  He’s a God who answers prayer.

I am completely indebted to God for my life.  I now find it easy to thank and praise God every day and I want to tell others what a wonderful God he is.  Expressing praise in words and song from the heart to God brings an intimacy with the One who loves me.

“Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭48:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He returns his peace and love to me.  I am safe in his care where no enemy can touch me.  Other peoples’s negative words roll off me like water off a bird’s waterproof feathers.  When I am in difficult situations I am not afraid.   From this safe position I can value and praise others rather than express my frustration and negativity.

My heart has been changed by knowing God’s love and praise for me.  He values me.  Jesus lifted me up from the pit of despair, depression, disease, fear and death.  He said he can set me free because he died on the cross 2000 years ago to forgive my wrongdoing, to heal my disease and give me life and a hope and a future.  He conquered death by his own death on the cross.  We don’t have to die prematurely.  God promises three score and ten years of life.

“Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭90:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I am now living in that future, a future of restoration, life, peace and love.  He is a God to be trusted and given praise.

The Salmon

When Brendan and I were in Seschelt our friend Ivan took us for a drive up along the coast.

We parked near a bay and our host told us he often went fishing there. The salmon were abundant in these waters and one was sure of a catch. What an ideal way to spend an evening in the sunset on his little boat in the bay. This certainly was the good life.

We stopped off at a coffee shop. Some people called over to us and told us “The salmon are running!”
There was a small river flowing nearby. We crossed over to it and sure enough we saw salmon spawning in the shallow waters. What an oppportunity for us!

While Brendan and I rejoiced to see this feature of nature before our eyes, our friend took some video footage. We were all excited as we spent those moments. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

Salmon live their adult life in the waters of the ocean. The Pacific is a big ocean, and millions of salmon return up the many rivers along the Canadian coast in Autumn. There are many types of salmon. The Sockeye is the biggest and most popular salmon caught. Wild bears and eagles have a feeding frenzy when the fish return.

The salmon has one goal, to return to the place where they were born to hatch their young. Once they leave the salt waters and enter the fresh water of the river the salmon stop feeding. They start the hazardous journey upstream over rapids, waterfalls and potholes to get to the shallow water when they can swim no further.

There the female releases her eggs in the sandy water bed and the male fertilises them. The parent salmon work is done. Every ounce of their energy has been used to get to their destination. They die soon afterwards.

We watched as the salmon released their eggs in that Creek. There were queues of fish waiting in the shallows to take their turn to lay their eggs. Perhaps they were not so keen to go forward because they knew their end was near.

Brendan, our friend and I savoured this moment. What is nature saying to us?

As I pondered on this I thought of my own life as a parent. Our goal as parents is to raise our young and help them through the stormy waters that we have passed through and show them the way.

The salmon entering the fresh water begins the journey of dying to self. This is symbolic of the one who decides to follow Jesus as well. He leaves the ocean, which represents the world and enters into the river of The Holy Spirit. Just like the salmon one has to die to self so more of the life of Christ lives in us.

As I get older I realise that on my journey in the river of the Holy Spirit I have had to die many times to my own will. As I trust God ‘s leading in my life I have peace. I can pass what I have learnt on to my children. I do not have to die physically like the salmon, but I have to die to my own will. The following scripture sums up the Christian journey.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen (Jesus the author and finisher of our faith) since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:7, 16, 18 NIV)
