My book “Look at The Birds” is launched today on kindle.
ATTENTION! ATTENTION!
Something good has happened today!
Brendan has launched my book on Kindle.
I’m as surprised as you are.
It’s like having a baby.
I was working on this book for about nine months.
It’s been a quick birth.
Brendan is a good midwife.
I gave my book over to him to put the finishing touches.
He has completed the job and published my book on Kindle today.
He was there for all our fourteen children’s births.
Please celebrate with us this new “baby”
My book is about being healed in my mind and heart from trauma after having fourth stage cancer thirteen years ago. Jesus said look at the birds of the air. You are more important than they are. Matt 6:21. Living in the midst of nature brought about my healing. By the Stripes of Jesus I am made whole. God is in the business of total restoration!
Here is the link to my book on Kindle.
If you buy, read and like my book please write a review.
Brendan and I went for a drive to the country today. We called at a friends farmhouse. He has a garden that has been tended lovingly for about one hundred years. Different generations of his family before him have worked in the garden.
In January I look out for snowdrops, the harbinger of warmer days and spring. I have noticed an odd bunch here and there.
In the garden we visited today, growing under a budding Magnolia tree is a display of snowdrops. Their white heads have pushed through the dead leaves and green grass. The display of early blossoms reminds me of the following scripture from Isaiah 35.
35 Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days. The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring crocuses. 2 Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon. There the Lord will display his glory, the splendor of our God. 3 With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees. 4 Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” 5 And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. 6 The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy!
May the snowdrop blossoms cheer you. Be expectant of good days ahead. Healing will come to you. God is coming to save you.
I was challenged yesterday when some one said to me “Many people are prayed for and they are not healed.” This fact is distressing and causes one to think, “Why bother praying when it does no good.” When one prays for healing and it doesn’t happen then one’s hopes are dashed. One feels like giving up.
My hopes were dashed many years ago when I had been praying over promises God had given me and it seemed God didn’t hear. I prayed for unity with my husband, unity with other believers, unity with my family, and over many other dreams I had. The more I prayed the more I felt alone and misunderstood instead of being accepted and included. I fell into depression. I didn’t care if I died. I gave up the fight to believe God in the face of despair. I developed fourth stage cancer.
Others prayed for me when they heard I had cancer. The people I felt in disunity with prayed for me, my husband, family and other believers. God heard the prayers of many and I am healed completely.
It was not because I was a good person, I am healed. I had many sins in my heart. I am healed to demonstrate the power of the name of Jesus and the power of Jesus Blood shed on the cross to save and to heal. It was brought about by the believing prayers of others in the Body of Christ. God had mercy on me. We have an all powerful God, the only God who is kind and merciful and does not treat as our sins deserve.
My husband wrote a book about my healing, called Staying Alive. Someone said to me “Why are you writing a book about your healing? Sure many people are healed and they don’t talk about it or even write a book about it.”Or another said “Who do you think you are praying? Leave that to the priests and ministers!”
The reason I heard someone say to me that many people are prayed for and are not healed is because we hear stories about those who weren’t healed. People are not speaking up and telling about being healed by God.
I am speaking up. I had to overcome my own fear of telling my story, afraid of what people may think. I overcome Satan by the word of my testimony and I love not my life unto death.
I will continue to tell of God’s love, mercy and compassion to heal. If you haven’t had an answer to your prayers don’t give up. Don’t loose hope. God’s Word tells us stories about perseverance. A widow wanted justice from a judge . She pestered him till he finally gave in because she was annoying him. A neighbour asked his neighbour for bread late at night. He was in bed and didn’t want to answer. But because the neighbour kept knocking the man got up and gave him bread.
How much kinder is our Heavenly Father. God wants us to believe and wrestle with him till we see the answers. Don’t dwell on what has not worked out. Meditate on stories of faith and God’s answered prayer. Give thanks for what God has already done and praise him for what he Is going to do for you.
I want to share stories of healing. If you have been healed by God tell others. Feel free to tell me about your healing! Thank you for reading.
You can find me on Google map. We had someone visit us recently. Before she came she checked out our address on google map . When she arrived she kept looking up at a neighbour’s chimney. She said where is the tree? On google map she had noticed a small sapling growing out of a chimney. You’ll be pleased to say it was removed earlier in the year. The whole chimney had to be dismantled and rebuilt at great expense to the owner.
Back to this morning. I having coffee in my local Cafe Nero’s. Outside the window two lorries parked up. Men unloaded disbatches of boxes of alcohol to the neighbouring shop, an off licence. Plenty of bottles of wine, cans of larger and spirits. The shop is restocking its supplies for the holiday weekend.
Many people are thirsty. Will the alcoholic drinks quench their thirst? No they don’t. Next day one can awake and be thirsty again. Jesus said to the woman at the well He would give her water she would never thirst again. What is this water?
The Holy Spirit is the water Jesus promised. Believe in Jesus and receive this water that will quench your thirsty soul. The water will bring healing, restoration, refreshing and new life. It doesn’t bring a hangover or pain or guilt.
What is so special about this weekend. Do you know? To me it is very special. I am reminded of the One who came from heaven to live and show me that God is my Father. He died for me on the cross, rose from the dead and sent the Holy Spirit to help me and comfort me and lead me into truth. He raised me from nearly dying of cancer and I am alive.
I am very encouraged this morning to see this post on Facebook . Helen joined Brendan and I on one of our weekend Gatherings in Corrymeela. She believes In Jesus for His forgiveness, his healing and restoration. Jesus paid it all by His shed Blood.
Helen believes and receives. She receives the prophetic. He receives the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. She receives the prophetic reward. This message is her testimony . We overcome Satan by the word of our testimony and we love not our lives unto death.
God freely gives us good gifts that Jesus paid the price for through His death on the cross and shedding His blood. I encourage you to believe and receive as Helen did . Receive. God is your Father. Receive his presents and his presence today.
Moment of Transparancy Some 4 years ago this prodigal returned back to her Fathers house , truth be told i was broken !
I had this picture in my head of my life and it was like a shattered mirror , smashed and totally fragmented , my dreams and hopes shattered into a million pieces , so hurt and rejected , a daughter of the king who was living as a pauper ! After ten years and dressed in rags battered n torn I made my way back home..
My healing and recovery began, the great healer began to put the pieces of my life back together again . The word tells us that those that sow in tears shall reap in joy 🙌🏻 , that mourning lasts for a night but joy comes in the morning !
This morning I was given the most precious of gifts handmade by Angela McCauley 💕🙌🏻 I believe it to be prophetic 🙌🏻 a picture made from broken glass , the fragments all making the most beautiful picture of restoration . To me this is so perfect , It represents myself and my three sons , my wee family to me it promises healing , wholeness , for The Lord said he knows the plans he has for us and I like the kjv for this as it speaks of an expected end 💕
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end Jer 29:11 This wee picture represents all the brokenness , placed in his hands becomes a thing of beauty , halleluajh 💕🙌🏻
Jeremiah 30:17, ESV For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord
Isaiah 61:7, ESV Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.
I’m pleased to present to you our book “The Grapes are Worth it”. Brendan and I picked our book from the printers on Friday.
It is the story of our lives, getting married and having fourteen children during the troubles in Northern Ireland.
It is a testament to Jesus’ power in our lives of forgiveness, healing, restoration and reconciliation.
I have been prompted by God’s Holy Spirit to write about how God helped me in my life for some time.
It was only after I broke my right arm that I gave up all distractions and started to write on my red lap top Brendan had purchased for me ten years previously when I had fourth stage cancer.
My daughter said “What is daddy buying a new computer for Mummy when she is going to die.”
Her dad replyed “She is going to write her book on it God healed me of cancer.”
It is nine months since we learned about Corona Virus and it’s potential to cause death, especially to the vulnerable and elderly.
The government put the country in lockdown. People were advised to stay at home and not have others in their home. Fear of getting the virus has gripped our nation.
Restrictions were lifted in July. I sighed with relief. I could now visit family and friends.
Now in October we are told to stay at home again because the numbers of infected people have increased. More fear. Some elderly people I have heard are too fearful to leave their homes.
I remember that there was a group of Jesus followers who were in lock down. They were in a room together for fear of the Jews who had just killed their follower Jesus on the cross. They had killed their leader. They thought it was only a matter of time before the Jews came looking for them.
John 20 v 19.
When the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in their midst. He said to them Peace be with you. Jesus breathed on them and said to them Receive the Holy Spirit.
Are you lonely and fearful? Are you finding it difficult to stay at home? I encourage you that you are a good candidate for Jesus to come to to give you peace and fill you with his Holy Spirit. Expect Him to come to you.
The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead is often referred to as a river, a well or water. Jesus told the woman who had come to get water from Jacob’s well that he would give her water to drink and she would not thirst again. If anyone is thirsty let him come to Jesus and whoever believes in him, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water. John 7 v 37. In the Old Testament Isaiah prophesies “Come all who are thirsty, come to the waters.” Isaiah 55 v 1.
The Holy Spirit is referred to as a river that flows from the throne of God. Wherever that river flows there will be trees, fruit and leaves for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22. The salt water will become fresh and there will be fish and wherever the river flows everything will live. Ezekiel 47.
Are you thirsty today? Are you in the wilderness? Do you have no money? Are you facing a battle in your life where there seems no victory or escape? Are you facing death? I have good news for you. Ask our Father to give you his Holy Spirit. Three armies King Joram, King Jehoshaphat and The King of Edomite were gathered in Israel to defeat the King of Moab their enemy. They came to a wilderness where there was no water for the armies or their horses. Defeat stared them in the face before they even faced the enemy. Where were they going to get water to feed such a vast number of men? They enquired of the prophet Elisha.
“and he said, “This is what the Lord says: This dry valley will be filled with pools of water! You will see neither wind nor rain, says the Lord, but this valley will be filled with water. You will have plenty for yourselves and your cattle and other animals. But this is only a simple thing for the Lord, for he will make you victorious over the army of Moab! You will conquer the best of their towns, even the fortified ones. You will cut down all their good trees, stop up all their springs, and ruin all their good land with stones. The next day at about the time when the morning sacrifice was offered, water suddenly appeared! It was flowing from the direction of Edom, and soon there was water everywhere.” 2 Kings 3:16-20 NLT
God can provide for every situation we face. We are sure of victory when we call on The Lord’s name and have the Holy Spirit flowing in our lives. We don’t have to be spotless, sinless or perfect to receive the Holy Spirit. He is the one who will be with us and he will make us spotless and sinless. There is hope, help, health, honour, harmony, harvest, humility and happiness wherever the River of God flows.
I was in a hopeless situation facing death from Bowel Cancer ten years ago. I was facing defeat. God did not leave me there in the pit. He sent his Holy Spirit to revive me and heal me and bring me life. I am remaining healed!
“Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story—
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,”
Psalm 107:2 NIV
Though my blogs on WordPress I write stories of what The Lord has done for me in my life. I was in despair and feeling hopeless. I developed cancer and was near death. My family and friends cried unto The Lord for me and God saved me from death and delivered me from the growing tumour. The doctors couldn’t explain how the cancer disappeared.
The Lord is the God who made the heavens and the earth and all that dwell therein. No matter what nation you are from God made it all. I live in Ireland, a country on the edge of Europe surrounded by water. We in Ireland have a heritage of Faith in The Almighty that extends back 2000 years. Sea travellers brought the news of Jesus to these shores in the first century AD. We have stories of the redeemed in Ireland that have been handed down through writings or stories told in families from generation to generation. The Irish are renowned as great story tellers.
The Irish travelled by sea to Scotland, England and into the heart of Europe via their rivers. They brought their stories and simple way of life to the nations in Europe. St Coulumbanus is buried in Italy. Another monk is remembered in Switzerland. The Irish went to Slovakia, where my son and his family now live. They told their stories of how they were redeemed from the hand of their foes.
The Lord saved me from the grip of Satan who was bringing me to death because of my sins of rebellion and bitterness. Jesus died on the cross, shed his blood and broke the power of the prince of this world over mankind. He provided a way of escape from those held in darkness by the blinder of people’s lives. I called on Jesus to save me from death. I received his power to be delivered from death. I’m alive.
Psalm 107 describes my situation.
Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death.
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.”
Psalm 107:2, 17-21 NIV
No matter what ones situation or whatever nation you belong to, call on the name of Jesus. Many young people are suffering despair and are suicidal because of war, poverty and disappointment in the nations. God will hear and act on your behalf. His word promises to help the poor and needy.
““The poor and needy search for water, but there is none;
their tongues are parched with thirst.
But I the LORD will answer them;
I the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys.
I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.
I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
I will set junipers in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together,
so that people may see and know, may consider and understand,
that the hand of the LORD has done this,
that the Holy One of Israel has created it.”
Isaiah 41:17-20 NIV
The water refers to the Holy Spirit whom God will send as we call on his name. He will work the miracle needed for you. What he has done for me, he can do for you. God bless you today.
Back in December when campervans are stowed for the winter, Bones sprung into life again after her battery was recharged.
Bones is the name my husband gave a campervan we bought two years ago. The doors rattled and the engine puffed out smoke when we first drove it. It needed much repair to make it roadworthy. It reminds us of the scripture in Ezekiel v 1 “ Can these dry bones live?”
I needed to use the campervan recently as my own car was being repaired. Tax and a top up to the insurance needed to be paid to keep it legal on the road. I thought I may as well take it out for a drive.
It had been wet and windy weather for a week. One of the wild nights I was travelling back home. I had the heater, lights, wipers and radio on in the van. I trusted Bones to get me home.
It did but next morning there was no spark to start it again. The power needed the previous night drained all life from the battery.
I was dreaming I could go on an overnight stay in the Campervan over the Christmas period. Who would come with me and would it be cold?
I wanted to visit Cushendun again. It is a beautiful place up along the Antrim coast. We had stopped in the village back in the Summer time. According to the brochures it had a Campsite that stayed open all the year round. After Christmas festivities my daughter offered to go with me one night in the van.
The forecast was 11 degrees centigrade one of the days so we planned and packed for our trip.
It was refreshing to wake up early when the sun was rising in the east over the Irish Sea. We had breakfast as the light shone through the drifting clouds. We spent the rest of the morning walking on the beach and driving through the picturesque villages along the coast road.
We treated ourselves to coffee in the luxurious Ballygally Hotel before setting off for home. I’m looking forward to many more trips out no matter what the season.
It’s good to be alive and enjoying my life. God is good all the time. There in healing in the Blood of Jesus.
