Our Daughter Mary goes To Malawi

Our daughter Mary has moved to Blantyre, Malawi. She is an Obstetrician and was working in Liverpool Woman’s Hospital until recently. She will be doing research to improve the care of mothers and babies in the third world.

It’s a wonderful privilege for her to get to work in another nation. It wasn’t an easy decision. Once she decided to take up the position she was busy giving up her accommodation in Liverpool. Furniture was given to friends. Clothes, books, ornaments, all bringing back memories had to be sorted.

We had an afternoon gathering of family relatives and friends at the Ivanhoe to say farewell. Andy Mc Clelland provided music. Mary loves dancing. There were no tears, only joy. She left the next day with three suitcases for her flight to Malawi.

Mary sent me this picture today . It was taken after I was healed of cancer in 2010. My girls in the picture are Hannah, Angela, myself and Mary. They and the rest of my family prayed and supported me through cancer.

Praise God I’m alive to see my daughter go to Malawi and celebrate with my husband, children and grandchildren. I’m not in the grave with my children coming to leave flowers on it.

Testimony of Healing in Israel from Nancy Lee

I would need to go back again to Israel. The first time there I was overwhelmed just walking where Jesus walked! You definitely read your Bible differently after being in Israel. Everything came to life, I loved it!

I had a clot in my leg before I went which used to ‘pop’ and a fountain of blood went everywhere. Our pastor ( Myself along with Pastor David Hamilton originally from The Ulster Temple, now U.T. ), and other friends used to meet for prayer and witnessed the clot ‘popping’ one morning. While having my quiet time with the Lord at my prayer station ( kitchen table) one morning I believe The Lord told me I would be healed in Israel.

While swimming in the Sea of Galilee I noticed the covering I had on my leg where the clot was, floating past me. I got out of the water to check my leg, and Hallelujah the little ‘hole’ where the blood’exploded’ was covered with a little layer of ‘silvery’ skin🙌🏻 Between crying, rejoicing and praising our miracle working God who keeps His promises I was healed🙌🏻

Sorry so long a story, but just want all who go to Israel go expecting as you will not be the same when your pilgrimage is over, It’s life changing spirituality. Go expecting and receive all He has for you,

We sensed The Lord smiling over us because we came and sowed into this beautiful land. God bless you all.🙌🏻🙏🏻

An Heartfelt Prayer

An heart felt prayer

This is an encouragement about how to pray. You may be facing an unexpected attack with difficulties on every side and you feel helpless. Take heart from this prayer. As you sing and praise circumstances will change and you will be rewarded.

A prayer when a king was facing great armies.

2 Chronicles 20

5 Jehoshaphat stood before the community of Judah and Jerusalem in front of the new courtyard at the Temple of the Lord. 6 He prayed, “O Lord, God of our ancestors, you alone are the God who is in heaven. You are ruler of all the kingdoms of the earth. You are powerful and mighty; no one can stand against you!

Whenever we are faced with any calamity such as war, plague, or famine, we can come to stand in your presence before this Temple where your name is honored. We can cry out to you to save us, and you will hear us and rescue us.’

10 “And now see what the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir are doing.
O our God, won’t you stop them? We are powerless against this mighty army that is about to attack us. We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.”

13 As all the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, wives, and children, 14 the Spirit of the Lord came upon one of the men standing there. His name was Jahaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite who was a descendant of Asaph.

15 He prophesied , “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow, march out against them. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!”

20 Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, “Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.”

21 After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy splendor.
Give thanks to the Lord;
his faithful love endures forever!”

22 At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves. There was so much plunder it took three days to collect it.

Remember What God Did For You

The children of Israel saw God deliver them from the power of Pharoah who had made them his slaves. God sent Moses to Pharoah to ask him to let the Lord’s people go free to worship Him. Pharoah scorned Moses for asking that and made the people of Israel work even harder. Eventually after plagues even to the death of the eldest sons of Egypt Pharoah let them go.

The Dead Sea opened up for them to leave Egypt. God appeared to them in the desert in a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day. God was with them and set them free to worship Him. He set them apart as his own people. He gave them guidelines on how to live.

So the people who saw God’s wonders obeyed God and their leaders, Joshua snd Moses. But after they died the next generation did not continue to obey or worship God. They worshiped the gods of the people around them. God gave them over to their enemies who oppressed them. This new generation had to learn how to deal with their enemies.
Judges 3 v 2 says He did this to teach warfare to generations of Israelites who had no experience in battle.

We are God’s people who believe in Jesus. Are we often like the Israelites who forgot God? We know his mercy to deliver us out of bondage but we soon forget his goodness and go our own way serving other gods who take our time, money and energy.

Some of us have seen his miracles of healing and deliverance. But we soon forget. We don’t want to fight. But with God’s help we can defeat our enemies. So they come back to rob, steal and destroy us. There is no middle ground. As Bob Dylan said you got to serve somebody. It may be the devil, it may be the Lord but you got to serve somebody.

Jesus said in Luke 21 v 34. Watch out. Don’t let me catch you in careless ease and drunkenness. Keep a constant watch and pray. Jesus is returning soon. Don’t be like the five foolish virgins who weren’t ready when the bridegroom returned.

Read God’s Word and pray in the Holy Spirit often. You have to fight so you don’t loose the ground you have taken.

Effective Prayer

Mark 11 v 22
Jesus said to his disciples have faith in God. Listen to me. You can pray for anything and if you believe you can have it. All that’s required is that you really believe and do not doubt in your heart. But when you are praying first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins.

Let me pray for you.

Dear Heavenly Father, creator of the universe thank you for sending your son Jesus on the earth . In John 6 v 44 Jesus says no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them them up at the last day. Please draw whoever reads this post to Jesus. Give each one a revelation of Christ your son. Give them the gift of faith. And help them to pray to you, especially when there is no one to help them. Amen

Child Healed from Hole in the Heart

Back in July 2021 I got a phone call from a Slovakia lady who is married to an Irish man and lives in Southern Ireland. She heard about my healing book Staying Alive translated in Slovakian. Her friend back home read it. This friend asked my daughter in law for my contact number.

The book Staying Alive tells of my journey to being healed from fourth stage cancer through faith in Jesus. I believe Jesus heals today. When Jesus was on earth He healed all diseases and cast out demons. He told his followers to do the same.

This lady asked me to pray for her son of fifteen months, who was born with a hole in his heart. He didn’t sleep well and suffered from fits.
She was weary and in distress. I prayed for her son over the phone that he would be healed in Jesus name. I promised to send her a copy of my book Staying Alive.

In my book she read about my daughters doing a twenty one day partial fast for me. She started a twenty one day fast for her son’s healing after reading my book.

Two months on I got a text from her. She took her son to an appointment with her doctor. He had recommended that her son would need an operation on his heart to repair it.

The doctor examined the child. To his surprise he saw that the hole in the child’s heart was gone and his heart was working normally. The mum and dad are overjoyed. Their child will not need an operation.

Here is a copy of her text,

Hi last Friday Patrick had check-up his heart and we have great news: a Hole in his heart is close and is working perfectly.Patrick dosn’t need a surgery.God is amazing and the best our FATHER!ALLELUJAThanks a million for your prayers and have a good day.

This is a testimony of the power of Jesus to heal today.

Boats

I make boats from drift wood I find on the shore near where I live. I have wood I intend to use that is the remains of a rowing boat that was abandoned by its owner. The winter storms buffeted and broke apart the once loved vessel. I enjoy making something new and beautiful, a sailing boat ornament, from that which is discarded or broken. The reclaimed wood is now loved by its new owner as it sits on display in his home.

Today I travelled across Strangford Lough by ferry to see and pray for a friend. While I was waiting at the harbour a beautiful, slim lined yacht passed gracefully through the water. It had two masts that reached skywards. It towered over other yachts parked nearby. The ferry seemed small in comparison to this vehicle. It is a visitor to these parts.

I soon forgot about the beautiful vessel when the ferryman said my ferry card, to pay for the journey, was out of credit. I resisted the temptation to be annoyed. I paid the full price for the journey.

On my return home I wanted to call into a shop to top up my card which gives subsidised journeys on the ferry. I knew I risked not getting on the ferry because of restrictions to the number of vehicles due to Covid. I collected my card and drove to the terminal. The boat was full and the ferryman signalled to me, no more vehicles. I stopped, resigned to wait an half an hour till the ferry returned.

I said a quick prayer, “Please Lord let the ferryman change his mind.” Just as I said that he asked drivers on deck to move forward to make room for another vehicle. He beckoned me forward.

I was super excited at the quick answer to prayer. I was full of joy and thanked the men for their help in making room for me. The ferry launched forward. I saw the sky move and wondered what was happening. Then there was a crash. My car had moved backwards and broke the long pole that is lifted and closed when cars get on and off the ferry. I was disoriented and in shock. In my excitement at getting on the ferry, I forgot to put the handbrake on. No one else saw what happened.

I waited trembling on my journey across the Lough. “What will the staff think when they see the pole crash landed at the back of the boat! I have damaged the ferry boat. That woman I made room for, look what she has done!” Perhaps I should have stayed at home and not bothered going out to help a friend. I remembered a promise from Psalm 121, ” I will watch over your going in and out”. I said another quick prayer, “Help” to God. I waited as other cars started up their engines, preparing to disembark when we got to the other side.

Then one staff member discovered the damage. He called to another. Three or four men gathered to look at the fallen barrier. I waited in trepidation. There was no scolding. No rebuke. In fact they laughed at what had happened. Thankfully they waved me forward and off the boat. They will take care of it. No calling the police to the scene of an accident. Thank God for the ferrymen who helped me today.

I got home. The yacht I saw earlier was parked offshore. It is beautiful. I stopped for a minute to reflect on my adventure. I told Brendan about what happened. He raised his eyes. He asked if my car was damaged? I forgot to look. Later he discovered a dent, the size of my hand just above the back lights. Thankfully the lights weren’t smashed. This new damage is just an addition to the war wounds my car has got since Brendan bought is for me six weeks ago. I have a story to tell about each one. We laughed together.

The Old Heron Waiting

The tide is high
No room to wade on the shoreline
The water is lapping against the wall
I’m safe here on the ledge
My favourite spot
Jutting out of the water
I’ll wait
And keep warm
With my neck
Sunk between my shoulder blades
I’ll wait
Till the water recedes
I’ll wait
To dart at some tiny fish
Lingering in the shallows
I know their hiding places
I’m too old
To fly from my perch
To find another spot
I’ll leave
Those fishing grounds
To the younger ones.
I’ll wait

Ten Years Healed from Malignant Colon Cancer

Spring has arrived.
Cherry blossom trees are coming into bloom.
Ten years ago Brendan and I were sitting, sobbing together under a cherry blossom tree outside the Lagan Valley hospital in Lisburn. We had just received confirmation that I had Malignant Colon Cancer.
On page 13 of Staying Alive Brendan writes,
“The nurse said you have a long hard road ahead of you. She mentioned, scans, tests, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and an operation”.
I had been bleeding for some time. I was too numb to take in the enormity of my situation. The doctors and nurses had a plan to help me, six weeks of chemotherapy and chemotherapy and then an operation to remove the tumour. This treatment could extend my life for a while. Few people survive for many years after colon cancer.

I continued with hospital appointments. Each day for five weeks I attended The City hospital in Belfast for chemotherapy treatment and radiotherapy. I didn’t suffer any side effects. Six weeks later the doctors called me to arrange an operation to remove the nine inch tumour. The treatment was just to reduce the tumour in preparation for the operation the doctors said. They were quite shocked when I told them I believe I was healed by God and I didn’t need an operation. They protested, Mrs Mc Cauley, “You don’t understand. The scans show the cancer has spread into the walls of your colon and surrounding tissue. We still need to operate.”

I said “I understand Doctor. I acknowledge your skills in helping me and your consern for me. I know my God, and I believe when he healed me he will have done a complete job and left no cancer behind.” The doctor did a colonoscopy and found no trace of the tumour. Instead the inside of my colon was like a baby’s skin. The doctor wrote out a letter to say he couldn’t find any tumour. I call this my certificate.

My testimony is that I was healed by the power of the name of Jesus and the power in his shed blood on the cross. In Isaiah the prophet said he was bruised for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities and by his stripes I am healed. I remain healed today. I am not on any medication and I have regular scans which show there is no cancer in my body. I give thanks and praise to God Almighty.

I wish to acknowledge the prayers of many people, their faith that God heals today, their love and encouragement, the help of medical staff who showed care and kindness to help me in the early stages.

What God has done for me he can do for you.  I am not a holy person but it is by faith in the power of the name of Jesus I am healed.  I believe that Jesus heals today.  Put your trust in Jesus. Seek him with all your heart. I pray for others to be healed. Come to him just as you are.  He will never turn anyone away.  Pour out your desires to God.

The Comforter has Come

Jesus was talking to his friends at the last supper when he explained to them what was going to happen in the future.  He was fore telling his death and that he was going to leave them.

“But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you;
but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:6-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus called the prince of this world, Satan.  “The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out.”  John 12v 31.  Jesus defeated Satan when He shed his blood on the cross.  Satan’s power over this world was broken.  When we believe in Jesus we come into God’s Kingdom and Satan doesn’t have to rule over us any longer.  We believe this by faith in Jesus.  We need to progress in the knowledge of God and not let Satan deceive us any longer.  The Holy Spirit leads us into truth.

He reassured  them that he would sent a comforter, the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is referred in the scriptures as the helper, the advocate, the counsellor as well as the comforter.“

In these troubled days who doesn’t need a comforter.  A father, mother, child or friend may not be with one in his life to bring friendship and comfort.  But God promised a comforter who will never leave or forsake one.  He is the Holy Spirit.

By believing in Jesus one can ask the Holy Spirit to come into one’s life.  God will give him the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the gift of speaking in tongues, a different language than one’s own. This is prayer language that builds our spirit up. With this prayer one defeats Satan.

Don’t be afraid to receive the Holy Spirit.  Ask the Father in Jesus name to send you the Holy Spirit.  If one asks his own father for a gift, will he not give him it.  How much more our Heavenly Father will give to us The Holy Spirit.  He will not give us anything that is harmful.
