My book “Look at The Birds” is launched today on kindle.
ATTENTION! ATTENTION!
Something good has happened today!
Brendan has launched my book on Kindle.
I’m as surprised as you are.
It’s like having a baby.
I was working on this book for about nine months.
It’s been a quick birth.
Brendan is a good midwife.
I gave my book over to him to put the finishing touches.
He has completed the job and published my book on Kindle today.
He was there for all our fourteen children’s births.
Please celebrate with us this new “baby”
My book is about being healed in my mind and heart from trauma after having fourth stage cancer thirteen years ago. Jesus said look at the birds of the air. You are more important than they are. Matt 6:21. Living in the midst of nature brought about my healing. By the Stripes of Jesus I am made whole. God is in the business of total restoration!
Here is the link to my book on Kindle.
If you buy, read and like my book please write a review.
In the last few weeks there have been many meetings, plays, movies and documentaries to remember the Good Friday Agreement made twenty five years ago in Northern Ireland. The present President Biden of America visited Belfast to acknowledge the Agreement. Former President Clinton and his wife Hilary came for three days.
The Agreement brought about an end to fighting with guns and bombs in Northern Ireland. The way forward for peace was a policital way.
The Agreement in Belfast was reached on Good Friday all those years ago. Often Man’s agreements are broken. A generation has been born in our country who do not know we had war for thirty years. How will they know unless we tell them.
We remember Good Friday for two thousand years because of another Agreement. Jesus suffered and was crucified on that day.
I am reading this morning from a book, the New Testament. It is about Jesus and His Agreement he promised for anyone who believes that he lived on the earth. He came to show God our Father to us.
He spent His last evening on earth with His friends. He shared a cup of wine and said, “This wine is a token of God’s new covenant to save you, an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.”.
Today, two thousand years later many people all over the world take wine and bread to remember Jesus death and promise to save us from death and eternal hell.
Why do we need Jesus? Because we need rescued from the power of the devil, our sinful nature and the enticements of this world. I testify to the power of the Blood of Jesus. It forgave my sins and healed me from fourth stage cancer. I did not die. I am not in the grave. His blood healed my disease. Jesus agreement is not broken.
He did not buy our freedom with gold. No He paid for it with His blood poured out from his head, his hands and his feet and side. His promise still speaks as we remember His death when we share the bread and wine today.
Will you take up Jesus offer of deliverance from evil and death? Will you reach out and agree with Jesus offer of life on this earth and in the life hereafter?
I hear the words of a song in my mind. They are, “I know where I’m going. I know who is going with me.” Do you know where you are going?
When the doctor examined me he found a nine cm tumour in my bowel. There is a team of cancer medical staff who decide what is the best treatment for a patient. They decided to give me five weeks of chemotherapy and radiotherapy to reduce the tumour. Then they would operate to remove the tumour and cut away part of my bowel and insert a stoma to remove waste.
I was invited to the hospital to talk about my operation. The kind nurses showed me how to use a stoma, and tried to reassure me that many people adapt to using a stoma. I was not convinced. I didn’t want an operation to open me up and leave me with a hole there. I thought back to the story of Thomas in the bible.
Jesus had been crucified and His followers were afraid the Romans would come looking for them. They were hiding in an upper room. Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
I believe the words of scripture that says By his stripes I am healed. Isaiah 53. Jesus had a wound in His side big enough for a man’s hand to fit in. He died on the cross to heal my disease.
I prayed Lord Jesus you were pierced for my transgression. A soldier opened up your side with his sword and water gushed out. You took my pain and disease so I can be healed and not have an operation to open up my side. I received faith to believe I would be healed and not need an operation.
Four months later a doctor examined me. The tumour was gone and I didn’t need an operation. Praise God. Like the woman who had an issue of blood and touched Jesus I was healed by the power of God. You too can be healed by believing in Jesus like Thomas.
You may not see Jesus but blessed are you who believe yet have not seen.
I was watching two programmes about people who had cancer here in the UK. One was about Dame Deborah James. She fought cancer with the help of the latest treatment, drugs, the love of her family and doing things that brought her joy. She campaigned for five years before her death advocating for others to get tested early for cancer. She set up a fund to raise money to help patients with cancer. It raised one million in the first twenty four hours. She was courageous to the end.
The other programme was about research using Car T-cell treatment. Dr Martin leads the research and speaks in his programme , War in the blood, a cure for cancer. The treatment helped his patients initially using the patients own blood cells that attack disease in the blood. But the cancer cells mutated. The patients’ new cells became ineffective.
All the families involved shared their journey on camera, their hopes, fears and sadness.
I am so grateful to be alive after having fourth stage bowel cancer. The doctors and nursing staff treated me with tender love and care each time I attended hospital. They knew what I faced in having cancer.
My family and others prayed for me. I believe that Jesus heals today. In the past before the development of science to treat diseases, people who were sick went to church for prayer. Scripture says call the elders. They will anoint you with oil and you will be healed.
James 5 v 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
These words are not my own. These words are inspired by the Holy Spirit to tell people the truth. Jesus is the way, truth and the life. God is not dead. He does not change. He is the same God yesterday and forever. His word gives us guidelines how to live. The prayers of others healed me.
Seek Him and you will find Him. The God who healed me created the heavens and the earth. I include a photo taken of a display of beauty over Alaska taken by Todd Sinard.
Is anyone sick among you or do you know someone who is sick? Then read on.
When you go to the doctor he gives you medicine for your sickness. ( that is if you can get to see him) You trust him, you take the medicine he prescribes.
Here is some good news for your healing. It is free. Jesus healed you when he shed his blood on the cross over 2000 years ago. Believe me and trust me and trust God. He is the truth and he will not let you down.
The word of God is medicine. Take it daily like the doctor tells you to take your medicine daily. Be patient. He healed me from 4 th stage cancer in four months. The tumour disappeared. I did not have an operation.
Easter is the time we remember that Jesus died on the cross. His tomb is empty, he rose from the dead. He is alive. Talk to Him. He is not deaf, he is not blind to your distress, he is not dumb. He speaks.
By the stripes of Jesus you are healed. I’m telling you for your healing say “By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.” You may not see or feel any change but as you keep saying these words daily the power of God is activated to perform your healing. The signs of your healing will follow. It is by faith in Jesus you are healed. Let me know how you are.
Pray and say
Acts 4:30 Father, stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.
All hail the Lamb Enthroned on high His praise shall be our battle cry His name is Jesus
These words from a hymn remind me of Easter. What is the popular food eaten on Easter Sunday by people who don’t even know what Easter means? Roast Lamb.
The people of Israel ate roast lamb on the night before their deliverance from slavery in Egypt. They were set free to worship their God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The angel of death passed over their homes. All the first born in Egypt died.
Many years later Jesus died a cruel death on the cross, the very day of the Festval when the Jews celebrated their deliverance from Egypt. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, although He was innocent of crime. He set us free from the power of Satan and took the keys of death and sin from him. By believing in Jesus we pass from death to life, freedom indeed.
Moses was the leader of the descendants of Abraham. He led the people out from Egypt after God sent the ten plagues.
The people came to Mt Sinai. Moses brought the people out to meet God. There was thunder, lighting, a dense cloud and the sound of loud trumpets. All the people were filled with fear.
The Lord had descended upon Mt Sinai in the fire and smoke rose up like the smoke of a furnace. The entire mountain trembled. The sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder. Then God spoke the Ten Commandments to the people, the Jews. Exodus 19-20.
They were entrusted with the words of God. Romans 3. They heard God speak. There is no other nation who heard God’s voice. God gave revelation to the Jews, the Ten Commandments.
Four weeks ago the daffodils in our front town garden were beginning to bud. They blossomed and produced a stunning , bright, fresh, spring display of gold. Two weeks on we had an overnight fall of snow which weighed heavily on the daffodils. They were bowed down for two days till the snow melted.
The daffodils have recovered from the ordeal. They have lifted their heads again to enjoy a few spells of sunshine. They are signs of hope of better days of warmth and recovery.
Nature speaks of the Glory of God. He created all life around us. Praise Him.
I was reading today from Acts 2. Brendan and I visited the Upper Room which is historically know to be where the disciples met together after Jesus ascended into heaven.
We met a group of believers from Brazil praising God in the Upper Toom. Brendan and I joined in their dancing. I noticed a lady beside me who was weak. I asked did anyone need prayer for healing. I offered to pray. Many of the group gathered around me and I prayed in Jesus name for them. It was a special time.
There are two important feasts the Jews celebrated. Firstly the Passover, to remember the freedom from Egypt. Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead on the weekend of Passover.
Secondly the Shavuot which is fifty days after Passover. It was to remember Moses receiving the Ten Commandments. All Jewish men were required to come to the Temple in Jerusalem on these feast days. It is interesting to read that there were Jews in the city from as far away as Pakistan, Egypt and Rome.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven He told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the gift The Father had promised. They were baptised with the Holy Spirit at Shavnot, know to us as Pentecost. They spoke in new languages.
When the disciples went down among the men who were gathered from the nations they were speaking in new languages. The men from the nations heard their own language from the disciples who were praising God.
Peter explained what had happened to Jesus and that he was the Messiah the Jews were waiting for. Three thousand people believed Peter that day. Among them were Jews from all the nations. These new believers brought the gospel back home to the nations they lived in. That was the beginning of the gospel being spread to the nations.
The Father poured out thd Holy Spirit when Jews from the nations were gathered. God’s timing is perfect.
Over two thousand years since then we are waiting for Jesus return to earth. He spoke to his disciples about it. He said there will be earthquakes and wars. But only The Father knows the time of Jesus return. God’s timing again will be perfect.
It’s Sunday morning again. My neighbour Elizabeth who is eighty two years old, has just finished playing Worship music in her front room. I can listen and join with her in Spirit next door.
She played the organ for many years in a large church down town in Belfast. She lead the congregation in Worship to Our Heavenly Father every Sunday for many years till her retirement.
Her front room is her Cathedral and I am her congregation.
Back in December Elizabeth had a few setbacks. She strained her shoulders as she stretched to do some housework. The doctors diagnosed arthritis. She took prescribed medication.
Her hands and wrists were so sore she stopped playing her music. The piano fell silent. I visited her and encouraged her. She asked me to pray.
To add to her difficulties she fell when out walking. She fractured her left hand finger and was bruised all over. She had a lonely Christmas, without her usual invite out for Christmas Day.
Elizabeth is a fighter. She is an overcomer. She trusts in God who has been her companion all her days. She is healed from all pain. She is playing her piano again. Elizabeth is like the snowdrop that appears again after dark days.
Her praises to God ring out in my street in Belfast. As a Chorus goes “God’s not dead, no He is alive.” The big Churches may be closed down but Praise is still happening in Elizabeth’s front room.
