Where does your wife fit. This is good advice for men. Often they want a traditional wife who cooks, cleans, looks after the house and children.
Life values change from country to country. This article doesn’t even address if you want children. Getting a wife is good but if you want children choose carefully.
When choosing a woman who works, you have to accept that she can’t handle the house.
*If you have chosen a housewife who can take care of you and manage your home completely, you must accept that she doesn’t earn money.
If you choose an obedient woman, you must accept that she depends on you and you must secure her life.
*If you decide to be with a strong woman, you have to accept that she is tough and has her own opinion..
If you choose a beautiful woman, you will have to accept great expenses.
If you decide to be with a successful woman, you must understand that she has character and has her own goals and ambitions.
Perfect doesn’t exist. Everyone has their own enigma, which makes us unique.
Jesus disciples were arguing among themselves who was the greatest. Jesus took a little child and said, however becomes like one of these will be greatest in the kingdom of God…
We need the Holy Spirit to guide one in the midst of the complexities of life.
I heard that storm Gerrit was going to hit the east coast of Ireland today. I went for a drive to Whitehead north of Belfast to see if there were any big waves. At full tide waves were breaking over the promenade.
Glenco Waterfall is about ten miles away. I wanted to check it out.
The waves and the thunder of the waterfall reminded me of some verses I read s few days ago.
Revelation 14 v 2
And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders.
Psalm 93
The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure. 2 Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. 3 The seas have lifted up, Lord, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. 4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea— the Lord on high is mighty.
Thank all of you who read my recent blog. I am reminded tonight of a question my father asked me about my children when they were young at home and going to school.
Why are your children not sick? Normally children when they go back to school pick up various germs and viruses which leaves them with a cold or flu. They have to take a few days off school to get better. As the depth of winter arrives, the dark cold days can sap one’s strength. My children seldom missed school. They were healthy throughout the winter.
I told my dad that we believe that God will keep us in good health. If our children are sick we pray for them and that they get well.
So for anyone reading this who have children that come down with every infection that is going around. Don’t expect or accept sickness. Rebuke all disease in Jesus name, take some honey and lemon, a good night’s sleep and all will be well.
That is how I believed and received health in our family.
You haven’t heard from me for some weeks . My daughter challenged me tonight. “Have you written any blogs recently? You need to write about all your difficulties! Tell about the bad times as well as the good. “
In my last blog, six weeks ago I wrote about waging war against the principalities in heavenly places. I use the name and the power of the blood of Jesus to defeat Satan who comes to rob, steal and destroy. Well Brendan and I have been through a war since.
Brendan was admitted to hospital for tests. He got home again and is doing well. At the time our children were very conserned.
A few days later I fell and fractured a bone in my right knee. I have had a full plaster on my right leg for the past six weeks. I have been confined to bed for most of the days since.
My husband and family have had to look after me. Brendan has been my carer mainly, bringing breakfast and meals. He didn’t get much time to be pampered after his hospital visit. I appreciate their love and generosity. My neighbours are conserned. Back in September I was outside hosing the back alley.
I have had mixed feelings over the past weeks, depressed, frustrated and weak with sleepless nights. We had to cancel two trips, one to Slovakia and another to Greece. Instead of rest in the sun I have had rest In my bed!!
In hindsight all things have worked together for good. Brendan and I have been home to be with our son who needed our help and the knock on affect on the rest of our family. One of our grandchildren is facing surgery.
A friend of ours was in Israel when the war broke out. Thank God she got another flight home after her own flight was cancelled. Life is changing for me but also for the nations. There are wars and earthquakes as Jesus foretold. It is distressing to hear of war casualties.
I was reading a note I made earlier in the year. It goes “One can’t get through crises without God. “. I can say for sure I couldn’t have got through the recent storms without God. All our family have been affected. When one suffers we all suffer. We were not left without encouragement. Friends or family would call.
I was comforted in the night as I read from the scriptures promises of healing and restoration. I listened to a song by ian White. From it I heard the words “there is holy ground to walk upon, there is work for you to do, limbs will be made strong again. “
It is at times like this I hold on to prophetic words I have been given of hope and deliverance. These situations will pass. Faith is believing what you don’t yet see. God has helped Brendan and I in the past. He will help us again.
I told stories recently about a mother gull that was defending her young. That has been prophetic for Brendan and I. We are praying and defending our family from the attacks of Satan. We will be victorious over his attacks because Jesus is fighting our battles.
God gave me a promise earlier in the summer. I was reading about Jehosaphat the king of Israel. A great army was attacking . A prophet came and said don’t be afraid. The battle belongs to the Lord.
I will be healed, my husband will be healed, my son ‘s situation will be healed, my grandchild will be healed in Jesus name. There is suffering but there is healing in being a follower of Jesus. And Satan is defeated by the power of the cross.
The gulls have reared their young and have gone fishing in the Irish Sea. They are doing what they were born to do.
There are threats from our neighbours. They want to cover over our chimney so the gulls won’t nest there next year. What excitement we would miss.
The behaviour of the mother gull to defend her young has spoken to me this summer. She stood watch over her young for hours, days and weeks until they were fully grown.
She dived down to anyone whom she thought was a threat. As parents do we fiercely attack anything or person that may attack our young? We have spent hours, days, nights, months and years caring for our young; keeping watch, feeding and helping them do what they were born to do.
In the my experience growing up in the country in Ireland, extended family and community helped each other. There were Godly values we adhered to.
Nowadays having a big family is frowned upon. The world offers pills and abortions to get rid of children you didn’t plan for. Doctors get paid extra to sterilise and remove wombs. The parents are left to rear their family themselves. Self control is needed to look after our young. One can’t be selfish. Is there anyone to help?
Children are for life not just as cuddly babies. They turn into rebellious teenagers who can’t wait to be adult and get away from the ones who reared them. No wonder some parents are perplexed and in despair.
I take hope in the Word of God. It tells me your work will be rewarded. God who made the heavens and the earth said he would care for me.
Isaiah 45 v 12 I am the one who made the earth and created people to live in it. With my hand I stretched out the heavens. All the millions of stars are at my command. 46 v 3 I created you and cared for you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime until your hair is white with age.
It is so good to trust in the God who made the heavens and the earth . Even the birds of the air speak to us about him.
I was reading a message on a praying What’s App group. It is an article on unforgiveness from a book written by June Newman Davies.
She writes “Firstly one needs to forgive from your heart anyone who has hurt you. Secondly one asks God to forgive the person who hurt you for what he did. Thirdly, ask God to forgive the one who is hurt and remove any unforgiveness.” I agree with what June writes.
In the prayer Jesus taught his disciples he said “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Jesus went on to his death to demonstrate what he was saying. He interceded with the Father to forgive us because we don’t know what we are doing.
Jesus died on the cross from his wounds. Every drop of blood trickled down from his head, his hands and his feet onto the clay of the earth. He said “Forgive them for they know not what they do.” Jesus released forgiveness to us, who are created from the clay of the earth.
When one knows the forgiveness of Jesus from one’s sins then Jesus asks us to forgive others. By forgiving someone who has hurt us we release ourselves from a spirit of unforgiveness, bitterness and resentment.
“Scientists” quotes Anne, “Show 98 per cent of diseases come from hurts one holds onto, caused by what others have said or done to us. These attitudes cause evil spirits to form a spirit of inforgiveness which causes a root of bitterness to grow up.”
I agree with Anne. I know the result of unforgiveness is disease. I had bitterness against others who hurt me. As I forgave them the cancer disappeared and I was healed from fourth stage cancer.
In 2 Corinthians verse 3 Paiul says, “We are human, but we don’t wage war with human plans and methods. We use God’s mighty weapons to knock down the devil’s strongholds. “
The devil takes advantage of any unforgiveness . If not released from this spirit other spirits come in bringing, anger, hatred and vengeance. These affect our blood. Our immune system is weakened. Diseases like, cancer, insomnia, diabetes, arthritis and others follow.
The good news is Jesus came to destroy the work of the devil. The Blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus are my weapons of warfare. I apply the blood of Jesus to every sin and sickness. The devil flees before the name and the power of the Blood of Jesus and healing follows.
Are you suffering today from disease. Receive the divine healing of Jesus by forgiving others.
It’s the first of September today. The Jewish new year starts around this time. The tradition is to look back on the past year with thanks to God and reflection on what didn’t go well. They look forward to a new year with no regrets and learn from their failings. They leave their burdens with The Lord, and enter into the new year with hope.
I agree with this outlook. Often we are weighed down with guilt and despair with ongoing problems not changing. We go to a counsellor. Our problems are regurgitated, and poured out to someone who is paid to listen. The failings are stamped deeper in one’s brain. They will resurface again in times of loneliness of stress.
We live in an age when mental illness is rife. Waiting rooms in hospitals are filled with distressed people, physically and emotionally, waiting for hours to be seen by a doctor.
Why not spend thirty minutes to an hour in a Church. It will be more fruitful than ten hours in a hospital waiting room or weeks attending a counsellor.
God promises to be with His people. Where two or three are gathered He is present. You may meet someone there to share your problems with. It will not cost any money. When we tell our failings to God like the Jews God forgives and doesn’t remember them any more. The problem can be one doesn’t forgive oneself and chews over the situation.
Have this mentality. Release the ingrained thoughts of failures and remember them no more. God doesn’t remember them so why should you.
I continue to distribute my book “Look at the Birds”. If you haven’t got a copy download from Kindle Amazon.co.uk If you are a mobile phone person, having a copy on kindle is easy to access when you have a minute to spare. I can quickly read a book on kindle.
I am encouraged after reading from Job yesterday.
Job 12 v 7
Ask the animals and they will teach you. Ask the birds of the sky and they will tell you. Speak to the earth and it will instruct you. Let the fish of the sea speak to you. For the life of every living thing is in His (The Lord) hand.
Two dolphin have been swimming in Strangford Lough these last few months. They appear near the ferry on the Strangford side.
Their appearance is attracting many visitors. The dolphin are responding to all the attention. They jump and twirl in the water.
My son told me he has noticed the dolphin are attracted by music he plays in his vehicle. My grandchildren are delighted. They get to swim with the dolphins nearby in Strangford Lough.
Do not Doubt that Jesus died and is alive today to heal you.
Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
You may not see Jesus but blessed are you who believe yet have not seen.
It is said that Thomas later went to India. His influence can be seen in Kerala the most Christian state in all of India.
Today Jesus will meet you where you don’t believe. Ask him to reveal himself to you again. Thomas did believe in Jesus before. But had turned away because Jesus had left. If you once believed in Jesus return and Jesus will bring you forward.
I heard from a man on Facebook who was telling us that there are rhythm sounds that bring healing. He said there are ancient Christian scriptures that mention about sounds.
I reflected on the idea of sounds bringing healing to one. I agree. It is the sounds of birds singing, waves crashing, the tinkle of a yacht, the call of a curlew, or wind blowing that helped bring me healing in Portaferry.
On the first week of July Belfast empties. People head to Donegal. It is the twelfth fortnight. Holidays are times to unwind, go to the seaside, walk, swim, make sandcastles. Healing and restoring.
Brendan and I took a drive along the Antrim coast. Just outside we stopped at Larne Boating Club harbour. It is a little oasis. The sun was shining. The sea was calm. The grass was green. Birds find the best places to hang out. There were ducks, turnstones gulls and oystercatchers.
I wanted to visit the Glenarriff waterfalls. We visited the falls forty five years ago. Willie Paterson and Hazel took four of us and his two children in his mini car to visit the falls. I remember going there but I hadn’t been back since then.
We arrived back in the late of the evening. When we parked we could hear the movement of water in the river. We walked for the next minutes up along the river. There were three steps of waterfalls. Water was bubbling, crashing, gurgling and flowing down the gorge. Green foliage and ferns cascaded overhead on the banks.
We kept walking up the path built specially to give the best view. The tall full waterfall came into view. We stood in the beauty for long minutes.
God intends that out of our bellies will flow rivers of living water. Let the river of God flow.
That you Willie for that memory from forty five years ago.
