The Thunder of Water

I heard that storm Gerrit was going to hit the east coast of Ireland today. I went for a drive to Whitehead north of Belfast to see if there were any big waves. At full tide waves were breaking over the promenade.

Glenco Waterfall is about ten miles away. I wanted to check it out.

The waves and the thunder of the waterfall reminded me of some verses I read s few days ago.

Revelation 14 v 2

And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders.

Psalm 93

The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
2 Your throne was established long ago;
you are from all eternity.
3 The seas have lifted up, Lord,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the Lord on high is mighty.
